The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in Varaždin, Croatia. The Jesuit order built it in the Baroque style from 1642 to 1646. The bell tower followed in 1676, and the sacristy was completed in 1726.

After the Jesuit order was abolished in 1773, the church passed to the Paulines. It was secularized in 1788 and converted into a military barn, and in 1797 it was re-consecrated as a church.

On July 5, 1997, Pope John Paul II issued the bull Clarorum sanctorum, which created the Diocese of Varaždin and made the church its cathedral. Among the events held there is a half-hour performance of Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria.
