Uppsala Central Station stands at Olof Palmes Plats in Uppsala, Sweden. King Charles XV opened it on 20 September 1866. The architect was Adolf W. Edelsvärd, who called his style Dutch Renaissance. The building was expanded in 1889 and 1918, and the ground floor was renovated in 1934 and 1935. It was listed as protected cultural heritage in 1986.
A new travel center was built from 2005 to 2011 and opened in December 2011 at a cost of more than 200 million dollars. It includes a new station building, a pedestrian and bicycle underpass, a busway, a car park and a public square. The old building ceased to be the station in 2011, and a brasserie later opened in it.
The station has five platforms and eight tracks. SJ long-distance trains run north, and regional trains run about twice an hour to Stockholm.
