The Stadtkirche, the Town and Parish Church of Saint Mary, stands in Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt. The present chancel and south aisle were built in 1280. Between 1412 and 1439 the nave was replaced with a three-aisle structure, and two towers were built. In 1811 the interior was redesigned in the Neo-Gothic style by Carlo Ignazio Pozzi.
Martin Luther held the first Protestant service here at Christmas 1521. He married Katharina von Bora in the church on 13 June 1525. The altarpiece is by Lucas Cranach the Elder and Lucas Cranach the Younger, with a Last Supper in the central panel.
A sculpture on the south wall, dated to 1305, is a medieval image of a type that insults Jews. In 1988 a memorial was added to the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and in 2022 Germany's Federal Court of Justice upheld the preservation of the sculpture. UNESCO listed the church in 1996.
