Mogoșoaia Palace stands in Mogoșoaia, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Bucharest. Constantin Brâncoveanu built it between 1698 and 1702. No architect is named, and the style is Brâncovenesc, also called Romanian Renaissance. After Brâncoveanu's execution in 1714, the Ottomans confiscated his family's wealth and the palace became an inn. The family later regained it.

The Ottomans devastated the palace during the Russo-Turkish War of 1768 to 1774, and German aircraft bombed it in November 1916. Princess Martha funded its rebuilding from her private fortune, and in the late 1920s and 1930s it hosted politicians and international society. The communist authorities nationalized it after 1945, and it became a museum in 1957.

Today it is a popular tourist site and houses the Brâncovenesc Art Museum and an art gallery. The exterior appeared in the 2018 film The Nun.
