Clervaux Castle stands on a rocky spur 365 meters above the town of Clervaux in northern Luxembourg, encircled on three sides by a loop of the River Clerve. Its oldest parts date from the 12th century and were built by Gerard, Count of Sponheim. The large palace and rounded towers likely date from around 1400, under the Lords of Brandenbourg.

In 1634 Claude of Lannoy added reception halls, including a Knights' Hall in the Spanish style of Flanders. After partial restoration and use as a hotel, the castle was destroyed by fire during the Battle of Clervaux in December 1944 and later fully rebuilt.

Today it houses a museum with Edward Steichen's The Family of Man exhibition and the administrative offices of the commune.
