The American Church in Paris stands at 65 Quai d'Orsay in the 7th arrondissement. It is interdenominational and is described as the first American church established outside the United States. Its roots go back to 1814, with early worship in homes and at the Oratoire du Louvre. The first American sanctuary was built in 1857 on rue de Berri.

Groundbreaking for the present church was on March 1, 1926, and it was dedicated in 1931. The style is fifteenth-century Gothic. The main level seats 600 and the balcony 100. A green spire stands near the Eiffel Tower.

Today the congregation draws members from about 40 nations and 35 denominations. The church hosts two bilingual nursery schools, recovery groups, fitness classes and a free concert series.
